Dear CGESD Families:
Welcome to the 2021-2022 School Year and thank you for choosing the Casa Grande Elementary School District! We can’t wait to have our educators and students all back in a routine that fosters learning, leadership, and innovation. The first days of school are very important, as they set a positive tone for the learning that takes place throughout the entire school year. Please remember - school starts Monday, July 26th. Make sure your children are here on the first day - and every day!
CGESD has 13 fantastic schools! There are 3 middle schools, 8 elementary schools, an Early Childhood Learning Center, and a K-8 Center for Online and Innovative Learning. Each has a culture that is unique and student-centered. We understand our schools are for students and take a strengths-based approach to ensure everyone belongs and everyone achieves at high levels. Our mission, “Success for Every One; the Responsibility is Yours and Mine”, does a nice job of summing up who we are and what we aim to accomplish.
A focus on achievement in core academic subjects is what your child will experience each and every day. We also pride ourselves on the many opportunities that promote student success in and out of the classrooms; strong music, physical education, STEM, student leadership, social-emotional learning, and service learning programs help our students develop as well-rounded citizens.
Our goals for the year include:
- Improving academic proficiency and growth;
- Heightening the sense of belonging and connectedness; and
- Strengthening family, school, and community engagement.
We strive to demonstrate integrity through open and honest communication. We use school newsletters, parent conferences, our School Messenger phone and email system, social media and our website found at www.cgesd.org to connect and relay information in a timely manner. We also use a two-way email address email@example.com for you to ask questions or express your ideas. We hope you will follow our schools and our district on Facebook and Twitter to see the cool things our educators and students are doing!
As a follow-up to my letter dated 7/1/2021, I would like to remind you that the use of face coverings (masks) by students, staff, and/or visitors is optional while on school property. As such, we have updated our mitigation plan, and have hope and optimism about a school year that is more closely aligned to what we were all used to pre-pandemic.
To those who have trusted CGESD throughout this pandemic, we will continue to do our best to safeguard your confidence. To those who are new to our schools, we will do all that we can to build and maintain your trust. We are thrilled to see you all again in the next week or so, and truly believe we are stronger and better together!
Here’s to an amazing school year ahead!
