Letter to Families

  • October 29, 2024

    Good Afternoon CGESD Families,

This past week, the Arizona Department of Education released the 2023-2024 A-F School Letter Grades for all Arizona public schools. The school letter grade is a measure that combines student academic growth and achievement, attendance, and several other key areas of student readiness.

This year our schools continued to make progress towards excellence. CGESD obtained a B rating for five schools, a C rating for 6 schools, and a D rating for one school (online academy). COIL’s current letter grade of a C is under appeal but anticipated to receive an additional B rating once the process is complete.

We still have a lot of work ahead of us, but with our commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration with the Arizona Department of Education’s Project Momentum, we are on our way to creating a Destination District–a place where every student thrives and staff feel proud to work.

Most recently, we created a new Strategic Plan that aligns with our priorities, values, and goals designed to strengthen math and literacy skills, attendance, and student behavior. As families, we know that you play an important role in the success of our district so we want to extend an invitation to join our parent forum on November 20th at 6pm to hear more about what CGESD is doing to create great schools.

Please visit our website for more information on letter grades, our new strategic plan, and to register for the parent forum.

Thank you for your support and for continuing to choose CGESD.

    Respectfully,

    Dr. Adam Leckie
    Superintendent
